Spot Channel Replacement

Spot Channel Replacement allows you to print files designed for a spot color workflow on printers without spot color channels. For example, the spot colors on a CMYKSS file can be converted to CMYK so the file can be printed correctly on a CMYK printer.

Spot Channel Replacement allows you to print files designed for a spot color workflow on printers without spot color channels. For example, the spot colors on a CMYKSS file can be converted to CMYK so the file can be printed correctly on a CMYK printer. To Open the Spot Channel Replacement Options: Click the Edit Quick Sets button on the toolbar. This opens the Edit Quick Sets dialog. Select the Quick Set you would like to edit, and click Edit. This opens the Edit Quick Set dialog. Click the Change Profiles button. This opens the ICC Profile Setup dialog. Click the Output tab, and then click the Spot Channel Replacement button. This opens the Spot Channel Replacement dialog (Figure 1). To Define a Spot Color: Highlight the spot color you want to define, and click Edit. This opens the Edit Spot Channel Replacement dialog (Figure 2). In the Spot Type drop-down box, select the Color Space you are using. In the Color Data section, enter the values for your spot color by either using the slider bars or typing the values into the respective fields. A sample of your spot color appears to the left. Click OK. NOTE: If the Auto-replace Spot Colors checkbox in the PostScript File tab is left unchecked, the defined colors in the Spot Channel Replacement dialog is not referenced.
